I know it's been forever since I've written, but I swear I've tried writing entries. I have like four or five half written entries that by the time I sat down to finish them enough new things had happened that it would take too long to catch up on everything. Alrighty then...
(oh and I haven't read any of the old, or half written entries recently so if I repeat anything I've said previously, I apologize.)
So today (March 22, 2010) is the two month mark of Torin and I being married! YAY! It may not seem all that exciting to you guys, but I am indeed excited. Not only are we married, but we have no plans of divorce! I consider that a success, no? I've finally gotten past the point of being weirded out over just the idea of being married, and now it's hard to remember life without him.It is fun to think about when we first met, I remember I thought it was so awesome to meet a black guy with spikey hair...you don't find a whole lot of those. But I did think he was a really nice guy and then after talking with him more and getting to know him I thought he was a really neat person. I like him. I'll save the whole story of how we met and got engaged for our one year anniversary or something. :D
I am really excited though to see what the future holds for us, there's so much potential for what can happen. I'm excited to see what our children will be like(in several several years, that is) and I think it'll be really fun to see him as a daddy.
When I got engaged, one of the most common things that I heard from people was to remember that marriage is not the great fix-it, and I didn't expect it to be cause I was happy with what I was getting, BUT it really does seem that things got even better since we got married. Several of our rough relationship points seemed to smooth out. It's been so much fun.
It also makes me sad when people would tell me that marriage isn't all that it's cracked up to be. Sure it doesn't come with magical fairies, opera-singing moons, music that plays along everytime you start singing, or knights in shining armor, but it does have a magic to it. I do think that marriage is all that it's cracked up to be. I know I haven't been married long, but it still does make me sad that people see it that way. Oddly enough, I'm surprised at how completely you have to trust the other person. It's actually been somewhat difficult for me, but he's never let me down and I honestly believe that he won't. I never thought I would have to put so much trust in one person! I definitely enjoy it though. Anywayyyysss.....
I would like to discuss one topic that greatly disturbs me. I believe it was in the year 1985(I'd need to double check to be positive) that the great Michael Jackson released a song called "We are the World" featuring all sorts of artists like Tina Turner, Lionel Richie, Stevie Wonder, and so on, and the song was intended to raise money for Africa. Well good ole' Wyclef Jean decided to do a remake to raise money for Haiti, but with artists like Lil' Wayne, Justin Beiber, Nicole Scherzinger, Jennifer Hudson, Mary J, Josh Groban, and a ton of others, and it just....ugh...
It was a very nice thought and I think it's a great cause, but they shouldn't not have messed with one of the greatest MJ songs ever. They should have done an all new song and just said it was inspired by the original. I suggest looking up the two versions on youtube. I just didn't think it was right of them, let the original rest in peace. I did love SNL's spoof on the second one! It was pretty good.
I have more updates that I will post tomorrow.....so i'm going to bed now.
good night!!!
ciaaaooooo!!
