Observations.....

It has been brought to my attention, while out and about, that some things just aren't registering correctly with people. So I just want to make a few clarifications of things that have been driving me batty!
  • At grocery stores there is a reason that the doors are labeled EXIT and ENTER. It's so you can EXIT out of the EXIT door and ENTER through the ENTER door. I can't possibly be the only person annoyed by this.
  • Men asking if we carry their bra/panty size at Victoria's Secret. You know we don't. You're not original. Nor are you funny.
  • People smoking right next to an ash tray or cigarette disposal devicey thingy, and then throwing their cig on the ground. Really? If you want to kill yourself smoking, have fun! But don't take mother earth along with you, especially when you could just reach over and dispose of it properly.
  • Men with sleazy pictures/sayings on their shirts. I know you think the picture with that chick pouring water all over herself is hot, but if you ever want to meet a girl in real life, that's not the way to go. I think most women will agree that's a total turn off.
  • Women in shorts that cover less then most underwear covers. I don't care if you wanna wear short shorts, or mini skirts. I , personally, love mini skirts! Great way to stay cooled off in the nasty heat and be cute all in one, but I tend to keep covered what needs to be covered. I know you may workout and be proud of that lovely little behind you have, but I don't want to see it hanging out. Most people don't appreciate it, and those who do are creepy. We should have the option to not see it.
  • People who walk up to me, start rattling off a bunch of Spanish, act offended when I say I don't speak Spanish, and then start speaking English. I do appreciate that you have come to America and taken the time to learn our language, but don't be annoyed that I haven't learned yours. I shouldn't have to, this is America. Do I look like I speak Spanish? No.
  • When you see a mother shopping with her out of control child and she gets a little impatient with the little guy, and everyone starts assuming she's abusive or giving her nasty looks. Maybe he's tired and has been a pain all morning and she didn't sleep well the night before. You don't know the whole story. Kids can be a real pain in the arse, and it doesn't make you abusive. When she starts beating her child or screaming threats, then there's probably something up. Just don't be so quick to make assumptions.

I'm done complaining now. I'm sure I'll think of more later. haha!!
Off to go get ready for the day.
ciao.

We did it!!

So Torin and I have officially completed our first move together! Very exciting! I only have a few pics of the whole moving thing and they're on Torin's phone so I'll just have to post them later. If I haven't replied to your emails or whatnot, I apologize, it's just cause we haven't had reliable internet access in forever, but now we do finally have the internet.
Well we both stopped working at the end of July, and we went to go stay at my Father in Law's house because it was closer to my parent's house and we were gonna work for them to earn the money for the move. Also it was good to get to spend time with Torin's family for the last week and a half or so. We had to push the day up one day so I think we actually left on the 11th. We slept some during the day and then we packed up our lovely Blazer and left that night. We have no A/C in our car so we had to drive at night so as to not kill ourselves with the heat, or cook our cats. So we have been driving for no more then ten minutes and we are already lost. We finally got it straightened out but I was so upset because we hadn't even come close to leaving VA and we were lost! I couldn't imagine how the rest of the trip was going to be. We didn't get lost again that night, but partway through the night I noticed that one of the boxes we had tied on top was coming loose and was actually standing straight up, which scared the living snot out of me, so we had to go buy more rope. We probably drove about close to 12 hours or so before we stopped and luckily the first motel we stopped at let us check-in early!! I believe it was my first night in Tennessee, and will hopefully be the last. :D the motel was really cheapo but it wasn't terrible or anything. Tennessee comes up with the world's dumbest names for things("Lawnsville", "Bucksnort", "Murfreesboro", and so on) but at least it was fairly pretty to drive through. The second night we got stuck in traffic almost immediately and while we were waiting I gave my sister, Terri, a call to let her know that we were headed her way but were stuck in traffic. She told me that she bet that once we drove past the actual construction(oh, i forgot to mention that there was traffic because of construction) we would just see the guys standing around doing nothing. Nope....we never saw ANY construction guys. I think wayyyyy later on we ended up seeing one guy, but it was ridiculous!
A couple months ago Torin and I were watching and episode of Friends in which the friends try to name all fifty states. We didn't think it could actually be all that difficult, but it was. We forgot one state: Arkansas. Ever since then Torin has felt terrible about forgetting about the state and has really wanted to go there, and lucky for him we got to drive through Arkansas on our second night!!! I understand why people forget about it...they do it on purpose. It was the middle of the night and it was by far the hottest place we drove through, it stunk horribly and the gas stations workers were possessed.
I was so happy to finally make it to TX! At about 7:15am we got to Terri's house. We were both super tired but we were really happy to be there. I thought we would go to sleep right away but we didn't at all. Terri's husband, Tyler, had to go to work so we only go to chat with him for a little bit. We all went out to the backyard where Torin performed his tricks for the kiddos. He had SOOOOO much fun playing with them!! It was really cute. Emma looks slightly taller...sort of. She speaks MUCH better! I would actually say that she is mature for her age, which throws me off even worse, cause she's so itty bitty but is actually seven years old, and then acts older. She was a lot of fun, I had fun being able to talk to her. She's super sweet. TS was sooo big!!! Last time I saw him we was just walking, not talking, and just a sweet squishy baby. Well, he's grown into a sweet squishy little boy. It's a good thing that he was okay with me pummeling him with hugs as soon as I saw him, or else he woulda just had to deal with it. He is very intelligent and imaginative, and super loving. He is also one hundred percent boy! He was so fun to play with. As much as I miss him as a baby, it's okay cause I really love the little boy he's become. It was my first time meeting the two younger kiddos, and they were just as sweet as I expected if not more so. Violet is honestly one of the most beautiful little girls I have ever seen. She is a princess...she sings, dances, and dresses like a princess. If only we understood how lucky we are to be in her presence...*sigh*. She was incredibly fun to meet and I absolutely adore her. She's got a set of lungs on her though, cause that girl can screeeeeaaaaammm!!! I think Torin's a little in love with her, but who can blame him? Miss Rhys is pretty much a little girl TS. She looks like a feminine version of TS as a baby and is just as sweet and squishy. I love snuggling her and I even got Torin to hold her a few times. Too cute. Tyler has some how gotten older....just kidding! He's not that old. No, but it was really fun to spend time with Tyler. I forgot how weird he can be. One thing for sure is that man loves his kids! Terri is obese. Like Shamu sized. Just kidding, Terri looks fabulous, she is nowhere near obese, I just have to keep that huge ego of hers in check. I forgot how stupid me and her are together. It was the first of my sisters that Torin has met and he really liked her. He agrees that I make more sense once you meet my family, and that he's never met anyone with quite our brand of humor. I don't know what he means...I'm sure if you went to the mental asylum you would find plenty of people just like us!
We were there for three days and two nights and then we went over and spent some time at Siouxsie's. We got to meet their new cute doggies and see the mutant child that used to be my niece. Last time I saw her she was regular size....now she' literally almost taller than me. I'm pretty sure she's taller than Torin. She's still very silly and goofy, and I guess I like her...heehee! Sioux and Rob? Still crazy. And that's how I like them. Torin had fun meeting them and having my insanity further explained. I can't wait to see them all again in October!
We left at about 3 in the morning to head to San Antonio and we got our apartment!!!! The apartment manager, Kimberly, is extremely nice and we really like her. The apartment is old, but in really good condition, all new carpet, freshly painted, all that jazz. It's only a one bedroom, but it's got a lot of space!! The bedroom's pretty big and so is the front room. I love having my own kitchen and whatnot....overall I love it. My work is really close, and Torin's a bit further but still somewhat close...heehee!!
Anyways, we have made it here safe and sound and are very excited to be here.
Hurry up and come home, Walkers!!
LOVE LOVE LOVE!
ciao
(oh and if my grammar seems funny it's just cause I haven't proofread this, I'm too lazy.)

Yuck.

So Torin and I have been running around to other Victoria's Secrets to pick up bras for our Semi Annual Sale(and no, we aren't stealing the bras, we were in fact ASKED to go pick them up. heehee). Last week we went to Charlottesville to get some, and that was fun and yesterday(monday) we ran to Southpark Mall to get them. It's normally about a 1.5 hour each way, so we left around 11:30 am thinking that we would be back by early afternoon, but within a very short amount of time we were brought to a complete stop, sitting on 95 for the next few hours. Now this wouldn't be as frustrating, except we don't have any AC and it was hot as a motherflubber!!! I seriously started contemplating stripping, like it was driving me crazy. However, I stayed fully clothed and we finally pulled off at an exit, after some of the most frustrating traffic ever. We got directions of how to go around it, and it even took a while to get through all that, basically the ride there was a nightmare. We didn't end up getting back to my home VS until a bit after 6:30 pm. It was too long of a day. Driving was somewhat fun when we could actually drive though, my arm got sunburned from hanging out the window...so now I have one sunburned arm, and the other's just fine! Some of the overpasses and whatnot reminded me of TX and made me even more excited to move!! So I took a few random pics....

Torin driving AND being cute!

Us...me being cooler then you'd think possible

I know it's not half as cool as TX...but it reminded me.

A really cool looking old building. woot woot! :D

oh woops!

I feel so silly, I forgot to mention that I have a new beautiful baby niece!! I love you beautiful Baby Rhys and I'm so glad to have you as part of our family! Can't wait to see you!!

Bookstores.....

I love bookstores, they are fabulous places. Considering that Torin and I don't live too close to any especially fun places, nor do we have a lot of money, we spend a lot of our time at Border's. It's one of the places that we've gone to for a long time and so it would almost feel wrong not to make an occasional visit. Usually when I wait for Torin to get off work I'll go chill at Border's for a bit and read all kinds of fun books but a couple weeks ago when I ended up chatting with a lovely lady, Alicia(sp?) and a very....special guy named John, wait sorry, Shadow. Shadow continued to tell us that he got his name because of his extensive martial arts training and how his sensei(sp?) had saved his life, taught him everything he knows, and all that jazz. He had come from a family of 200 strong warriors but they had been reduced to merely 16 survivors!! He went on about the abuse he had suffered from several different step fathers and step mothers, even though his parents were both dead(so how they kept remarrying was beyond me). Because of the depression the abuse caused, he sold his soul to the devil at age 8 and no matter how much he begs, he can't get it back. He had been engaged four or five different times, even though he's only twenty, and each girl had been an exotic mix of crazy ethnicities so he totally understood the difficulties of an interracial relationship(which, honestly, I wouldn't say there's anymore difficulties then in a same race relationship). He finally one day, while walking down the street with his Fillipino/Russian fiance, could no longer take the disgusted looks from others so he turned around and yelled "Why do you hate us!!!!?! What is wrong with our love?!!!?" and those people never talked to him again. Bottom line, this guy was a nutter. At first he was fun to listen to cause he would make things so incredibly outlandish but after a while I kinda got sick of hearing it, cause he wouldn't let anyone else get a single word in. Alicia, on the other hand, was incredibly pleasant. She's a very sweet lady who has had a very exciting life and is super enjoyable to talk with. Since then we have chatted several times at Border's and it's always so pleasant to see her. She's a very caring lady, and it makes me twice as glad that I've spent so much time at Border's! Today as we were chatting we saw him again and the stories got crazy again. We did also meet a very nice young couple who just had their first baby, and I think they were pretty blown away by the things Shadow comes up with. I do love meeting people in bookstores though, you can learn so many fun things.

Well, Torin and I have finally planned our escape from Virginia!!!!! It shall include great ninja skill and sneakiness! We are moving to San Antonio, TX. "What's there?" is the question everyone asks, and we have several answers:

1. Not Virginia.

2. Decent cost of living.

3. A better city to live in altogether.

4. Chuck Norris (I'm just assuming)

5. Better job economy.

6. And I guess family....:D(mine and Torin's)

We are looking to leave in the beginning of August, and we're pretty psyched. We've already got some stuff packed up and we've taken down our pain in the butt water bed, and we really can't wait to move there. I am going to miss a lot of people here, and I'm really gonna miss my darling VS 610 ladies(and Allure Encino..haha!), but I figure I'll see them again. I'm scared to leave my mama and my daddy, but they visit TX enough that I may actually end up seeing them more than I did before, cause my mom was always in TX! I get to meet a couple of nieces that I've never met before, so that'll be nice, and I will also be reunited with my fellow San Marcos-ians. That funny little place, San Marcos.
Alrighty....I'm gonna go to work now.
Ciao, friends!!
